Merrill School District Recognizes Dorinda's Dance StudioOn Wednesday July 19, 2017, the Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) Board of Education recognized Dorinda’s Dance Studio for the contributions of its programs, staff, and students to the Merrill community.

The Studio recently celebrated 35 years in business, culminating with a dance production of “Let’s Go Crazy” at the Prairie River Middle School over the Mother’s Day Weekend.

The award recognized studio owner and director Dorinda Gustke and her staff for sharing their love of dance with hundreds of Merrill area community and Merrill Area Public School students again in 2017.

Over the years, Dorinda’s Dance Studio has taught thousands of students. In fact, the dance program at Dorinda’s Dance Studio keeps more students involved from pre-K through their entire educational career, than most high school sports.

Moveover, Dorinda’s Dance Studio provides a vehicle for students to express themselves and enjoy life, teaching not only the skills needed for the sport, but also the proper disposition and mindset needed for a healthy life, in an environment that fosters collaboration and teamwork.

Dorinda’s Dance Studio is a regular customer of MAPS, compensating the district in a win-win scenario that showcases both the dancers and the MAPS facilities.

Dorinda’s Dance Studio is a valuable resource to the Merrill school community and a partner in appreciating and developing all  youth. Dorinda’s Dance Studio has generations of supporters in and around the Merrill community.

The award was presented as recognition of the school district’s “support of her service to students and a reflection of the positive relationships that Merrill Area Public Schools aspires to create throughout the Merrill business community.

Studio office manager Sheila Mueller accompanied Dorinda in accepting the recognition.
